The name of this place is ‘Glass – wine. bar. kitchen’ and it’s located inside Ledges Hotel in Hawley, a small town in northeastern Pennsylvania near Lake Wallenpaupack.
It’s about 45 minutes from Scranton, 1 hour and 40 minutes from Allentown, and roughly 2 hours and 35 minutes from Philadelphia.
If you’re coming from New York City, plan for about a 2-hour drive.

This place is all about that view, and honestly, it’s hard to focus on anything else once you step onto the terrace.
The restaurant overlooks the Wallenpaupack Creek gorge, where water rushes over rock ledges to form a cascading waterfall that drops about 85 feet.
Floor-to-ceiling windows inside and an open-air deck outside make sure you’re never more than a few steps away from watching the water pour over the rocks.
The building itself dates back to the 1890s, when it started as a glass factory that used the power of the falls to run its operations.
That industrial past still shows up in the design, with exposed stone walls, steel beams, and huge windows that frame the gorge and waterfall below.
The menu leans into small plates and shareable dishes, so you can try a bunch of different things without committing to just one entrée.
You’ll usually find options like warm pretzels, seasonal veggies, crispy calamari, and chicken potstickers, all plated in a way that feels just fancy enough without being over the top.
The wine list is a big deal here, with a rotating selection that highlights both international bottles and regional picks from Pennsylvania wineries.
Timing your visit makes a difference.
During the day, you get a clear look at the waterfall and the surrounding trees, especially in fall when the leaves turn bright orange and red.
At night, the whole place takes on a quieter, more intimate feel with the sound of rushing water in the background.
If you can snag a seat on the terrace, do it.
Tables closest to the railing put you directly overlooking the falls, and you can actually feel the cool mist in the air on warmer days.
Even inside, though, those giant windows make sure you don’t miss the main event.

Reservations are highly recommended, especially if you want a table on the terrace overlooking the waterfall.
Those outdoor seats are limited, and they’re the first to go on weekends and during fall foliage season.
Parking is available on-site at Ledges Hotel, but the lot can fill up quickly during peak dining times.
Arriving 15 to 20 minutes early gives you a better shot at an easy spot and a little time to explore the grounds.
There’s no real dress code, so you’ll feel comfortable in casual clothing, nice jeans, a sweater, or a casual dress, but you can absolutely dress it up a bit if you’re making a night of it.
If you’re visiting in cooler months, bring a jacket if you plan to sit outside.
The terrace is exposed, and temperatures drop quickly once the sun goes down, especially with the mist coming off the falls.
Make some time to walk around Ledges Hotel before or after your meal.
There are short paths and viewing areas along Wallenpaupack Creek where you can see the waterfall from different angles and snap a few photos.
You’re also just a short drive from Lake Wallenpaupack, a 5,700-acre lake that’s perfect for a quick scenic stop or a longer afternoon of boating, fishing, or lakeside strolling.
If you’re up for a hike, Promised Land State Park is about 20 minutes away and has over 50 miles of trails, including the 2-mile Little Falls Trail that leads to a series of small cascades.
Right next door, you have Hawley Silk Mill, a restored 1800s building filled with local boutiques and a gallery.
Downtown Hawley is also less than 5 minutes away and has a handful of cute shops and cafes.
Between the food, the wine, and that waterfall view, this is not the kind of place you’ll want to rush through.
