In this blog post, I’ll be sharing my thoughts on Level8 luggage.
Level8 is a New York-based luggage brand that mixes sleek design with incredible functionality.
They basically focus on making travel gear that’s smart, stylish, and actually built to survive real-world adventures.

You won’t find a lot of over-the-top frills or gimmicks here.
Level8 is more into clean lines, durable materials, and thoughtful details that travelers actually need.
Their designs are very modern and minimal e.g. muted colors, sharp silhouettes, and that “effortlessly cool” look that doesn’t scream for attention but totally deserves it.
My Experience With Level8

Level8 were kind enough to gift me their Voyageur Luggage 2 Piece Set in the yellow & black colour.
I’ve actually been using Level8 luggage for several years (they also gifted me a few suitcases 3 years ago).
I’m genuinely obsessed with their luggage and honestly, you couldn’t pay me to use any other suitcase at this point.
I’m a full-time traveller who travels often so my cases from Level8 have been through a lot.

We’ve been to Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, Laos, Spain, Turkey, Denmark, the Philippines, Portugal and so many more places together.
I’ve hauled them onto the subway in Kyoto, down bumpy streets in rural Thailand and even dropped one down an escalator (it slid all the way down till my boyfriend luckily caught it).
After all that, they still work perfectly! The wheels are just as good as the day I got the cases and there’s no major damage at all.
A few scratches have appeared on the older cases (especially after I dropped one down an escalator) but nothing that affects the use of the case.

Next I’ll go into more detail about the specifics of the luggage but, in a nutshell, I’m a Level8 fangirl and can’t get enough of their cases.
Individual Luggage & Features
The set that I received recently from Level8 was the Voyageur Luggage 2 Piece Set. I got the 20” and 26” cases.
Here’s some of the things I LOVE about these suitcases:
Handles

I love that the handle doesn’t get in the way of the space inside the case.
Don’t you just hate when you have to awkwardly pack around the spines of the handle?
The handle design gives you more space inside the suitcase which means more outfits, more souvenirs and definitely more snacks.

Also, the handle is made from aluminum alloy, and it’s the smoothest handle I’ve ever pulled up and down.
There’s never any annoying jams or awkward tugging.
Durable Materials

The shell is made from German Makrolon® polycarbonate, which basically means it’s super durable but still fairly lightweight.
My cases have been slammed around a lot–both from me being clumsy and also by the brutal airport staff who seem to launch the bags onto the baggage claim carousel without a care in the world.
After all these years, I have zero breakages and zero real damage to the cases (which I can’t say for my other suitcases from other brands).
There are some scratches of course but nothing that affects the usability of the case.
Security

I’m not gonna lie, dealing with locks at airport security always stresses me out.
Level8 suitcases have a built-in TSA-approved lock, which is super easy to use and means no messing about at airport security.
Wheels

Honestly, my favourite thing about Level8 cases are the 360° spinner wheels because they glide like butter.
Like, I could steer it with one finger through a packed airport.
These wheels are seriously good. I even once impressed a concierge guy at a fancy 5-star hotel in Bangkok.
He grabbed my suitcase to take it up to my room and was like ‘woah!’ and started wheeling my case around the lobby in awe and I bet he’s seen some fancy suitcases in his time!
Bonus: they’re super quiet, so no annoying squeaky wheel noises announcing your every move.
Looks

As well as being super durable and useful, these cases just look good.
The micro-diamond finish is not just for looks (although, hello, it looks gorgeous).
It also makes the surface tougher against scratches and scuffs.
I do have some scratches on the cases but after dropping it down an escalator, what do you expect?

(For context, the above case is my older Level8 suitcase that I’ve had for 3 years and not the newer one Level8 sent me recently. After the escalator incident, it wasn’t damaged at all, other than the minor scratches shown above.)
I do think the anti-scratch technology used on the cases has definitely prevented a lot of minor scratches and reduced the severity of the bigger ones.
My newer Level8 cases still look brand spanking new even after travelling all the way across the world.
Packing

Inside the cases, they feature an interior compression system that keeps everything neat and locked in place.
Fun surprise: they ship it with one of two random interior designs!
The dry-wet separation pocket is also one of my favourite features.

It’s perfect for tossing in a damp swimsuit or anything that might leak without messing up the rest of your stuff.
Why doesn’t every suitcase have this??
Space

There are two big roomy compartments inside.
And not the fake kind where half your space disappears because of awkward bumps and bulges.
I packed way more than I thought I could.
Cons
Is there anything I don’t like about Level8 luggage?
Honestly, not really.
If anything, I find the smaller carry-on luggage is quite heavy on it’s own so it’s easy to go over the weight limit if you’re not careful.
For this reason, if I’m taking the carry-on suitcase, I either pack light or just check it in to avoid being told off at the check-in counter.
Or sometimes I just risk it and often the staff don’t even care that it’s slightly overweight.
Summary
These suitcases seriously check every box for me.

They’re stylish, smart, tough, and basically made to keep up with whatever kind of chaos travel throws your way.
As I said, I’ve been using Level8 luggage for 3 years now and wouldn’t go back to another brand.
As a full-time traveller, I need something durable so that I don’t have to replace my suitcase every few months.
If you’re thinking about upgrading your luggage, then I wholeheartedly recommend Level8.
(These suitcases were kindly gifted to me by Level8 but all opinions in this post are my own. I was free to write whatever I wanted about the cases and I just genuinely love them).
