Ever dreamed of driving a real tank and flattening a car like it’s a soda can?
There’s a place in Georgia where you can do exactly that and it’s way crazier (and louder) than you think.
So what is this off-the-rails experience and where can you try it for yourself?
What Is It?

Tank Town USA is a wild attraction in Morganton, Georgia where you can drive real military tanks and even crush cars with them.
It’s a place in the U.S. where regular people can get behind the wheel of a tank, no military training needed.

If you’re into big machines, loud engines, and total destruction, this place is basically your dream come true.
Why Everyone’s Obsessed

Tank Town USA is widely featured because, let’s be real, how often do you get to legally crush a car with a tank?
People come here just to say they’ve done something totally unhinged, driving big metal beasts and rolling over cars like soda cans.
It’s one of those bucket list spots that feels so over-the-top, you have to experience it to believe it.
Top Experiences
The main event at Tank Town USA is driving a 17-ton tank through mud, over bumps, and straight across an open field, all with you behind the wheel.
Want to take it up a notch?
You can add on a car crush and feel the tank rumble as it flattens a real car right under you.
The crunch is loud, the power is wild, and the photos are unreal.
If that’s not enough, there’s also an experience where you get to use real military-grade weapons at targets.
It’s loud, messy, and totally unforgettable.
And let’s be honest, it’s basically the opposite of your average weekend plans.
Planning Your Visit
Tank Town USA is located in Morganton, Georgia, just a few minutes outside of Blue Ridge in the north Georgia mountains.

They’re generally open Thursday through Saturday from April to November (with Monday–Wednesday by request), and Monday through Friday from December to March.
Please note that hours can change with the seasons, so always check their website before you go.
Booking ahead is a must, especially on weekends and holidays, since spots fill up fast and walk-ins aren’t guaranteed.
You can reserve your tank time directly on their website, and it’s super easy to choose your date and add extras like car crushing or machine gun shooting.
Fall is a great time to visit if you want cooler weather and epic leaf views while you flatten stuff with a tank.
What It Costs
Driving a tank costs $200 for 10 minutes or a half-mile of solo tank time, which includes up to three passengers.
Plus, a longer drive of about 20 minutes is available for $385, which includes the same driver and up to six passengers.
If you want to crush a car, that add-on costs about $599 total (includes your tank time plus the car smash), and it’s by far the most popular package.
There’s also a 100-round machine gun experience for $200.
You can mix and match experiences if you’re feeling extra bold, because why not go all in?
It’s not a cheap day out, but for something this wild and rare, most people say it’s totally worth the splurge.
What Else to Know Before You Go
You’ve gotta be at least 15 years old with a learner’s permit to drive the tank or shoot the machine guns, so keep that in mind if you’re bringing teens.
Closed-toe shoes, such as flat-soled athletic shoes or construction-style work boots, are required.
You’ll definitely want clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, as it can get pretty muddy.
Safety is taken seriously here, and the staff will walk you through everything before you start, so no worries if you’ve never even touched a tank before.
Oh, and leave the flip-flops and fancy outfits at home, because this is more boots-and-gear energy than Instagram-glam.
