The Loveless Café has been feeding hungry travelers since 1951, and yes, people really do drive hours just to eat here.
It all started when Lon and Annie Loveless opened a small café along Highway 100, eventually adding a roadside motel near the Natchez Trace Parkway.
Back then, Annie cooked fried chicken and biscuits for motel guests in her own kitchen, and word spread fast.
Travelers cruising the Natchez Trace began stopping in just for her food, and before long the café became the main attraction.
Today, the motel rooms are gone, but the café is still going strong more than 70 years later.
The Loveless Café is best known for its scratch made Southern comfort food, and those biscuits are the headliners.
They bake thousands of biscuits every single day, and each one is hand rolled and cut.
Your table comes with a basket of hot biscuits served with a house made preserve in flavors like peach and strawberry.
People rave about the fried chicken, which is crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and cooked using the same recipe Annie used decades ago.
