If you’re visiting Sandals in St Lucia soon then you might be wondering if they have free WiFi.
In this day and age, we are so dependent on our tech that having access to the internet is a must on any vacation.
This post covers everything you need to know about the Sandals Grande St Lucia WiFi including how fast it is, how much it costs and if it’s worth upgrading.
Does Sandals Grande St Lucia Have WiFi?
Yes, standard basic WiFi is free for everyone at Sandals Grande St Lucia. You can pay for an upgraded WiFi package for faster speeds.
The free WiFi is available in all room types and in all public areas including in the restaurants, by the pool and on the beach.
You can connect an unlimited number of devices to this WiFi for free.
On their website, Sandals St Lucia state this:
- The free WiFi provided by Sandals is suitable for most uses including standard web browsing, checking emails, social media and Whatsapp messaging.
- Their premium internet (which you have to pay extra for) is suitable for video streaming, Skype and large downloads.
I read through 67 reviews on Tripadvisor to see what guests thought about the free WiFi and here’s what they had to say:
- 73% of people said the WiFi was slow and dropped out intermittently.
- 27% of people said the WiFi was good with a few people even saying it was fast.
I include a more detailed analysis of what they had to say later in the post.

The most common issue was that the WiFi speed was slow, it dropped out constantly, the coverage was spotty and in some instances, the WiFi went down across the whole resort for several hours.
How Much is Sandals Premium WiFi?
The premium WiFi at Sandals Grande St Lucian costs an additional $79.99 per week.
The only difference between the standard WiFi and the premium WiFi is the speed. The premium WiFi is faster.
You will have to pay this fee on top of your normal room rate if you choose the premium internet package.
Is Sandals Premium WiFi Worth It?
Sandals themselves state that you’ll need the premium internet for video streaming, video calls and large downloads.
If you will be doing any of these things often during your stay, then purchasing the premium WiFi will be essential based on guest reviews.
For most guests however, the standard WiFi was enough for them and many people stated the slow speeds didn’t bother them too much as they were on vacation and therefore not using it much.
You should be able to check your emails or have a quick browse on social media even with the standard WiFi (as long as you don’t mind it being a bit slow to load).
If having fast internet is important to you then you will want to get the premium WiFi when you get there.
💡Insider Tip: Most Sandals resorts have super fast free WiFi in their lobby. It’s designed for guests who have just arrived and not yet been allocated a room. Speeds are often much faster in the lobby than anywhere else in the resort so head there if you need fast WiFi for a while.
How Good is the Sandals Grande St Lucia WiFi?
The WiFi at Sandals Grande St Lucia is decent but coverage is spotty and drops out intermittently.
I read 67 reviews from people who have actually stayed at Sandals St Lucian Grande (these reviews were from Tripadvisor.com and all mentioned the WiFi).
Here’s what they had to say:
- 73% of people said the free WiFi was slow and dropped out intermittently.
- 27% of people said the free WiFi was good with a few people even saying it was fast.
The most common cause for complaint about the WiFi at Sandals Grande St Lucian was that there was spotty coverage and the WiFi often dropped out.
Some people mentioned that even doing basic things like just browsing on social media or checking emails was a struggle due to the slow WiFi speeds.
Several guests also reported that the WiFi went down across the whole resort for several hours.
In some instances, it was out for several days with one particular guest saying it was down for 3 & a half days.
People who bought the premium WiFi said it was better than the free one but not amazing and they still had some issues with speed.
Although it seems that the WiFi at Sandals Grande St Lucian is lacking, they certainly make up for it in other areas and for most guests, it didn’t bother them too much.
And that’s it!
